Dear FELT Summer School Participants and Representatives of the Partner Institutions,
On behalf of the association “Continuing Education Center” let us expresses our sincere gratitude for the contribution you made to the FELT Summer School: Teaching English to Primary Learners, organized on the 11 – 17th of June 2016 in Balti, Moldova.
I’d like to thank the EL teachers for delivering demo lessons for the 2nd and 3rd form pupils. They were appreciated by the primary learners, as confirmed by the evaluation forms performed by Mrs. Natalia Timofei and Mrs. Lilia Ciumac, the primary school teachers from G. Cosbuc Lyceum.
We are grateful for the time and effort you took to share your thoughts and experience and work fruitfully during the planning, observation and feedback sessions as well as the final evaluation session. We would like to encourage you to send us your lesson plans by the 30th of June 2016.
As a follow – up activity of the summer school we would like to invite you to revise and improve your lesson plans and join us for an ELT workshop on developing ELT resources that will be organized on the 9th of September 2016. Minimum 5 lesson plans will be selected and sent to Mrs. Aikaterini Kantourou for aproaval as part of the exchange visit to the 11th Primary School from Greece on the 19th -23rd of September 2016.
Particular thanks go to Mrs. Elena Varzari, university lecturer from A. Russo Balti State University, and Aikaterini Kantourou, EL teacher from the 11th State Primary School of Piraeus, Greece for observing the demo lessons and providing constructive feedback to the EL teachers.
I also wish to express my gratitude for the organizational support and discussions held with Mrs. Ala Sainenco, dean of the Philology Faculty, A. Russo Balti State University, Viorica Bujor, principal at G. Cosbuc Lyceum, Natalia Timofei and Lilia Ciumac, local primary school teachers.
The greatest thanks go to Mrs. Angeliki Martinou, principal at the 11th State Primary School of Piraeus for implementing the joint project entitled “My Vacation Travel Journal” with the Greek pupils, sharing the students’ posters and stories with us and allowing us to use these resources in order to elaborate an English Reader for the 2nd and 3rd form pupils. We are also thankful for planning an exchange visit for the EL teachers and primary learners from Moldova to Greece.
Not least, I wish to thank the members of the project staff, Cazacu Veronica, Perdinscaia Nicoleta, Vilcu Nelea, Ursu Inga, Alexei Chiricenco who worked fruitfully together and shared logistics tasks and organizational assignments, tasks I could not have achieved alone. Furthermore, their attitude and responsibility gave us all the needed stability in this demanding phase of the summer school.
We owe a debt of gratitude to the Foundation “Liechtenstein Development Service” which supports financially the FELT School project and helps us to contribute to the professional development of the EL teachers from Moldova.
