ESP Summer School

A core group of 14 people participate in the ESP Summer School “Teachign English at the Vocational Schools Specialised in Gastronomy” in the period od 3 -10 July 2016.

EL teachers, waiters, VET school students from the cook specialty from Moldova, Italy and Greece will participate in a diversity of activities targeted to develop ESP resources and exchange teaching techniques.

The event is hosted by  Oliva Restaurant in Balti.

The summer school is organised by the Association “Continuing Education Center” in the framework of the FELT School project in collaboration with the Center for Excellence in Gastronomy and the financial support of the Foundation “Liechtenstein Development Service”.

ESP Workshop for EL Teachers from Vocational Schools

On the 19th of March 2016 8 English language teachers from vocational schools specialized in gastronomy attended a workshop on developing ESP resources.

Learning flashcards-based ELT activities

The main outputs of the workshop are:

teachers are informed how to use a diversity of resources elaborated for the course “English for Gastronomy” including flashcards (teacher’s set and trainee’s set), videos, audio resources, online surveys, observation forms, free online learning tools.

teachers improved their teaching portfolio with ELT resources elaborated on the basis on the students’ EOP needs;

teachers are informed how to apply to a summer school training design to contribute to their professional development.

The workshop took place at the Center of Excellence in Gastronomy and was organised in the framework of FELT School project due to the kind financial support of the Foundation “Liechtenstein Development Service”.

ESP Summer School: Teaching English at the Vocational Schools Specialised in Gastronomy

Continuing Education Center is looking for participants to the ESP Summer School “Teaching English at the Vocational Schools Specialized in Gastronomy”.

Who can participate?

  • English language teachers with at least a 2 years ELT experience  in a vocational school focusing on gastronomy related specialties: waiters, bartenders, cooks and pastry cooks.
  • VET school managers
  • teacher trainers
  • instructors
  • resource developers.

Enjoy this opportunity to establish professional networks among EL teachers from VET schools, share ELT resources, exchange ideas and practices regarding EOP.

We provide the meals and accommodation for free and reimburse your travel expenses. For participants from EU institutions we reimburse the travel expenses up to 200 Euro.

English lesson at Oliva Restaurant

On the first of March 2016, a pilot group of 8 students, future waiters attended an observation session as part of their English language course “English for Gastronomy”. The activity was organised in collaboration with “Oliva” Restaurant from Balti and was targeted to show the students the step-by -step process of making cocktails.

A relaxing atmosphere, welcoming and friendly staff who shared a diversity of cocktail making secrets. Every cocktail was special! We were seated into a private room to discuss the cocktails and our trainees could also talk to the restaurant’s waiters about their experience. We would like to thank the OLIVA Restaurant for this amazing experience!!!

The activity was organised in the framework of FELT School project, aiming to improve the ELT capacity at the partner vocational schools. The project is implemented with the financial support of the Foundation “Liechtenstein Development Service”.

Training pentru Profesorii de Limba Engleza de la Școlile Profesionale

Avem onoarea să invităm profesorii de limba engleză de la Școlile Profesionale la un training organizat în cadrul proiectului “Școala Viitorilor Profesori de Limba Engleză” implementat cu suportul financiar al Fundației “Serviciul de Dezvoltare din Liechtenstein”.

Rezultatele training-ului:
  • familiarizarea cadrelor didactice cu fișele didactice elaborate pentru cursul de limba engleză de la școlile profesionale, specialitățile chelneri, barmeni, bucătari, cofetari (setul profesorului și setul elevului);
  • informarea participanților privind rezultatele obținute în procesul de pilotare a fișelor didactice pe parcursul anului 2015 – 2016 la Instituția Publică Centrul de Excelență în Servicii și Prelucrarea Alimentelor;
  • îmbunătățirea portofoliului la limba engleză primind gratis 35 de seturi de fișe didactice (setul profesorului: 5 seturi tematice a  cîte 1 exemplar, și setul elevului: 5 seturi tematice x 6 exemplare );
  • informarea cadrelor didactice privind oportunitățile pentru profesori și elevi de a participa la școala de vară cu genericul ”Predarea Limbii Engleze în Școlile Profesionale” (iulie 2016).
